Troubleshooting

The Credit File screen allows users to manipulate credit reports that have already been ordered.  From this screen, users can view and print reportsunmerge reports, request and view supplements, generate forms, order RMCRs, and order flood report.  Users can also upgrade the report by adding a co-borrower or credit bureau to the credit report.  Users can also view and pay invoice charges with credit card from this screen.

Viewing and Printing Prequal Reports

1 Source Data allows you to view reports in two formats: Web-based and PDF.  The Web-based format is generally easier to view on a computer screen, whereas the PDF has more standardized formatting for printing.  Both types of report may include an Instant View password at the end of the report, allowing later retrieval without having to fully log in to 1 Source Data.

View Report panel

The illustration above shows the View Report panel.  To view the prequal report as a PDF file, click the link marked PDF (outlined above in magenta.)  To print the PDF prequal using ePrint, click the printer icon (outlined in cyan).  For a Web-based report, click the Preq link (outlined in red).

Administrators are able to require that certain users pay for the report using a credit card before they can view it.  The Make Credit Card Payment button is on the charges panel.

Unmerging Reports

If you specified a coborrower or requested reports from more than one credit bureau, 1 Source Data returns a merged credit report.  However, if you want to remove one or more sources of data, you can do so with the Unmerge Report feature.  This feature is free, and relies on reports that you have already requested.  It does not pull new data from the bureaus.

Unmerge Report panel

To create an unmerged report, first deselect the bureaus and/or borrower that you wish to omit in the unmerged report.  If a checkbox is inactive, then that bureau (or the coborrower) was not included in the initial report, and thus cannot be included in the unmerged report.  In our example above, we did not originally pull data from Transunion, and want a report generated using Experian as the sole source bureau.

Next, select what type of report you want: a Web-based report or a PDF report.  Finally, press the View button to generate an unmerged report.  Note that you must have selected either the borrower or the coborrower and at least one bureau.

Supplements

Supplements panels

Requesting Supplements

Line-item supplement requests, such as those for tradelines or public records, should be requested from the Web-based report.  However, the Credit File screen allows you to submit General Requests to processors.  To submit a general request, type your request in the text area in the Submit General Request panel.  If you want to place a rush order on your request, check the RUSH checkbox; as noted, this option may cost extra.  Press the Send Request button to send your request.

Your supplement requests for this credit file are archived in the Supplement Requests History panel.  Clicking the review link next to one of your requests will show a summary of your request.  The following status remarks are used:

  • New: Your request has been submitted, but no action has been taken by the processors.
  • Working: A processor is working on your request.
  • Pending: A processor has worked on your request and is waiting for additional information from a third party.
  • Completed: A processor has finished processing your request.

These supplement requests are also archived under the Requests tab of the main desktop.  This listing will show all of the requests that you have ordered, not just the requests for one specific file.

Viewing Supplements

Available supplements are listed in the Supplement Reports panel on the credit file screen and under the Supplements tab on the main desktop.  These reports can only be viewed as PDF files.

Generating Forms

You can easily generate forms and form letters by selecting the type of form from the drop-down list in the View Report panel.  All of these pull relevant information from the credit report and from your creditor information.  The forms can be printed by pressing the Print button in the upper left corner on the form.  The only form requiring more information is the denial statement.

Form Letter drop-down list

You can select from the following forms and form letters:

  • NOTICE: A notice to the applicant that you have pulled their credit history from TransUnion, Experian, and/or Equifax.
  • DEROG LETTER: A derogatory accounts letter addressed to the borrower, asking for explanations on any derogatory accounts or public records.
  • CREDITORS: A smaller version of the Web-based credit report, listing only basic applicant information and all reported creditors.
  • DEROG: A segment of the Web-based credit report, summarizing all derogatory accounts and public records.
  • MORTGAGE ONLY: Another subset of the Web-based report, listing only basic applicant information and all mortgage accounts.
  • MTG W/SCORE: Same as MORTGAGE ONLY, but with the addition of credit scores.
  • DENIAL: A statement of denial, termination, or change.  This form requires you to check the necessary statements before you print the form.

Reports
Upgrade Report

You can upgrade the credit report or request a Residential Mortgage Credit Report (RMCR) from this screen.

Link locations

The Add Bureau and Add Spouse links (shown above surrounded by red) both connect to the New Report page and will allow you to add a spouse or bureau to the existing report.  The borrower and bureau information used to generate the current report will already be filled out and cannot be changed.  If your initial report had both a borrower and a coborrower, you will not see the Add Spouse link.  Similarly, if you ordered data from all three bureaus at first, the Add Bureau link will not appear.

Ordering RMCRs

The Request RMCR links (surrounded in magenta above) will take you to an RMCR request form.

RMCR Request form

You must provide the borrowers' employer and the employer's phone number.  The Ordered By field is also necessary; it should be filled in automatically.  We strongly recommend that you fill out all applicable fields.

If you need the RMCR as soon as possible, select the RUSH option.  As noted, there may be an additional fee for rush processing; contact your CRA if you are unsure.

Press the Submit Order button to submit the RMCR request.  You will be returned to the Credit File screen, and the new RMCR request will be added to the Supplement Requests History.  The RMCR status will be listed as RMCR Pending in the View Report panel.

When a processor completes your RMCR, the RMCR will be available both from the View Report panel here and from the RMCRs tab on the main desktop.

Ordering Flood Reports

You can order a flood certification report by pressing the Order button in the Flood panel. Information about flood certifications is on another page.

Invoices and Payments
