Click this icon and a small window will pop up with more information.  (This one is for illustration only; there's no extra help window here.)

Required

Required  Field
You must fill out any areas marked with this symbol before you submit a form.  If you don't, you will receive an error message and an error icon ( see below ) will appear next to each of the fields that you did not complete.

Error

Error

The error icon will appear if you try to submit a form with required fields that are incomplete.  If this happens, simply fill in the required fields and submit the form again.

Print

Print
The printer icon is used for printing documents.  In most cases (e.g., when viewing an individual credit report), clicking the icon will load the PDF document in Acrobat Reader and then launch the Print dialog box. In some other cases (e.g., when viewing multiple credit reports), the icon appears on top of a column of checkboxes.  To print one or more reports here, first check all of the checkboxes for the reports you want, and then click the Print Selected button.  Printing from 1 Source Data requires that you install the ePrint module. Refer to the download FAQ for more information.

E-Mail

Email

If you are viewing a request submitted by another user, the e-mail icon may appear next to the owner and/or orderer of the report.    Clicking this icon will launch your e-mail program, with the recipient and subject lines already filled in.  You will still have to type a message for your e-mail.

The 1 Source Data Desktop

After you log in to 1 Source Data, the first screen that you will see is the 1 Source Data Desktop.  The desktop shown below is only a sample user desktop; the graphic accents and color scheme differ between clients.  Additionally, you may have more or fewer options than are displayed on this desktop; your access level is set by your administrator.

The

The desktop seen above has a few important elements outlined:

  • DESKTOP
The desktop itself is outlined in blue.  Start new tasks in 1 Source Data by clicking one of the links on the desktop.  Since we regularly add new features and improve the 1 Source Data workflow process, the exact contents are subject to change over time.

  • SECTION TABS
Tabs in the red box indicate different sections that you can go to in order to quickly find reports that have already been generated.   A tab that appears light gray indicates you are currently within that section; you can go to another section by clicking on a tab is dark gray.  These tabs aren't confined solely to the desktop; you will see similar tabs elsewhere in 1 Source Data.

  • QUICK-REFERENCE BAR
The quick-reference bar is outlined in green.  The links will allow you to return to the main desktop (Main), to go to the 1 Source Data Download Page (Download), and to log out of the system (Logout).  The drop-down menu, text box, and Go button is used in conjunction to quickly bring up a credit file that has already been ordered.  Use the drop down menu to select a search criteria (file number, reference number, Fannie Mae reference number, last name, or social security number), then type in a number or keyword in the text box and press the Go button to initiate your search.

If you are a processor or an administrator, your Desktop will have more options than the user desktop seen above.  Processors are also given an Inbox, a Rolodex, and more support options.  Administrators are, of course, given a selection of Admin utilities.  (It is not necessary for an administrator to be a processor.)
