Logging In to 1 Source Data

Software

To use 1 Source Data, you must have Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 (with Service Pack 2) or higher.  For security reasons, you should have the U.S. / 128-bit Domestic encryption version.  If your Internet Explorer does not have 128-bit encryption, the login screen will tell you to update your Internet Explorer.

If you have the 40-bit Export version, please upgrade your browser.  Updates and security patches for Internet Explorer are available directly from Microsoft at http://www.microsoft.com/ie/.

If you have Windows 2000, upgrading to the newer version of Internet Explorer may not increase the encyption strength of your Internet Explorer.  You will have to download and install the Windows 2000 High Encyption package available at: http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/downloads/recommended/encryption/default.asp

Information

Your CRA or administrator should have provided you with the following information:

  • Website Address [URL]
  • Login Name
  • Password

Contact your CRA or administrator if you don't have this information.

Logging In

Open Internet Explorer, and type the website address into the Address Bar.  You will be taken to a login screen, similar to the one below.  (The logo displayed on the screen differs for each client.)

Enter your login name and password, and then press the Login button.

Sample Login Screen

The padlock icon and the URL starting with https:// are signs that Internet Explorer has a secure connection.

If your login fails, an error message will be displayed on the login screen.  If you enter the wrong password five times in a row, your account will be locked.  Contact your administrator or CRA if you need help accessing your account.

If you cannot log in and are repeatedly receiving a Session expired error message, then you probably need to change your browser settings to enable cookies or add the credit system's URL to your trusted sites list.

Installation Wizard

If this is your first time connecting to 1 Source Data from your computer, you may be shown the 1 Source Data Installation Wizard after the login screen.  The Installation Wizard will prompt you to download Adobe Acrobat Reader 4.05, a LOS interface, and the ePrint module.

Installation Wizard start screen

Click Next >> to continue through the wizard, or press Cancel Wizard to proceed to the login screen without downloading anything.  Although the Installation Wizard will prompt you to download certain items, it will not automatically download any software.  If you need help with installation, refer to the Installation question in the FAQ.  If you want to run the Installation Wizard again, click the Installation Wizard link on the Software Download page.

If you have configured Internet Explorer to delete all cookies upon closing, the Installation Wizard may still appear every time you log into 1 Source Data.  If this happens, we strongly recommend that you change your browser settings.

Password

You should change your password immediately after the first login.  To change your password, click on the My Account link in the Others section of the Desktop.

The system requires the password to be changed every 90 days for security purposes.
