Program and Module Downloads

Although 1 Source Data is a Web-based system, you will need to install a few extra components on your computer to get the most out of 1 Source Data.  You can find all of these modules and add-ons in the downloads section of 1 Source Data.  Installation instructions are provided below.

Clicking on the Download link will take you to 1 Source Data's Software Download Page.  On the user desktop, the link is in the Quick Reference bar to the upper right.

The Software Download Page has a selection of installation utilities, and updates in three different categories:

PDF Viewer

1 Source Data requires a PDF viewer to view reports in PDF format.  The most common viewer, Adobe Acrobat Reader, also functions as a browser plugin.  We recommend and provide Acrobat Reader 4.05, but you can find a more updated version at http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep.html.

Two other modules are listed in this category: the Express Print Module, and the ePrint Manual Installation Module.  Express Print is an obsolete module that is limited in feature and was replaced by ePrint.  It is there for users who cannot get ePrint to work.  ePrint is superior to Express Print and is required for the full operation of 1 Source Data such as batch printing and autoprint.

LOS Interfaces
There are a variety of interfaces available to allow your desktop Loan Originating System (LOS) software to connect to 1 Source Data.  Please refer to the separate LOS Interface Guide for more details.

Miscellaneous
This category contains Windows drivers and updates to Internet Explorer.  We recommend that you use the latest version of Internet Explorer and the MS XML 3.0 drivers.  Security updates for Internet Explorer are available from Microsoft at http://www.microsoft.com/ie/.

Installing Components

To download and install components there are two main methods.

Method 1
  1. Right click on the link for the module that you want to install.  (The example below trying to download and install Adobe Acrobat Reader)
  2. A small menu appears. Click on Save Target As...

  3. Save the file in a temporary directory.
If you don't know how to do this:
    1. Click the Desktop icon (outlined in red; you may see a smaller version of this icon at the top of the window instead of the large icon shown)
    2. Click the New Folder icon (outlined in maroon)
    3. Type temp to rename the new folder to temp (outlined in blue)
    4. Double-click the folder to open it (outlined in cyan; resulting panel change not shown)
    5. Press the Save button (outlined in green)

    Save As Dialog

  4. Close any running programs.
  5. Execute the file.
If you followed the detailed steps above:
    1. From the Windows desktop, double-click on the temp folder.
    2. Double-click on the file that you had saved.
  6. The installer will install the program. Sometimes, the installer will ask to restart Windows to complete the installation.  (This is one reason why you should save your work and close programs before installing modules.)  Let the installer restart Windows.
  7. After the program or module is installed, you can delete the temporary installation file.  If you followed the detailed steps above, drag the temp folder from the Windows desktop into the Recycle Bin.
Method 2
  1. Left click on the link for the module that you want to install
  2. On the File Download dialog, select Run this program from its current location or Open depending on what options you get and click on OK.  This will download the installation file into a temporary directory and automatically run the installation after the download is completed.
  3. Click Yes on the Security Warning dialog that appears when your computer is ready to install the module.  This will run the installation.
  4. Go through the installation by clicking on Next and then click on Finish at the end.

Installation Helpers

Two new utilities are now available to help you with installation of 1 Source Data components.  These utilities are listed under the Installation Helpers heading.

The Installation Wizard is the same wizard that appears the first time you log into 1 Source Data.

The System Information utility shows you which components you have installed, and which web browser you are using.
